Your own private beach!

Private Beach

When I visited Tawi Tawi in 2007, I had the opportunity to go to Tango Island, which is a private island owned by the Governor of Tawi Tawi.  This little beach is on Tango Island.  Very inviting, don’t you think?

You think ? Ask that governor how he got to acquire that island; he forcibly bought it from the original private owners for a very meager amount. Even before he even got to own it, he used his position as a government official to put his own armed goons on that island, and the original owners cannot even get anywhere near it. No wonder your country is such in a miserable and pitiful state, and until now, it really perplexes me to even think how those officials got elected in the first place. Oh, I remember now: they elected themselves, and the people’s votes can be bought for a can of sardines ! That’s right, you people have no dignity at all!

And you call it very “inviting” ? Next time you post something like this, learn about its historical facts first. The Philippines is still very uncivilized, immensely corrupt, and it’s government officials think they can do what they want. You really think white people like me who knew about that history would even set foot on that damn island ?

If the Americans had been the colonial masters of the Philippines, it would have been for the best. And had the Americans been in Tawi-Tawi, government officials there would have hightailed it out of there with their tails stuck between their legs. Those damn people have no backbones whatsoever, and think they can control everything with guns.

Oh, and if you yourself are Caucasian, then let me tell you bluntly, you should know better than to patronize islands bought with blood money, especially in that freaking country you now call your home.

What was it that Forrest Gump said? Stupid is as stupid does, right? Have a nice day, Duncan.
