Talisayan, Misamis Oriental

Talisayan

Talisayan, Misamis Oriental is a small town on the Northern Coast of Mindanao.  It’s famous for it’s Seafood Restaurants that sit atop the water, and for the Whale Shark Museum.  When I was visiting Talisayan these local fishermen had just landed with their catch of the day, and were having a good time blowing off some steam!

Border Crossing

Border

Along the road between Maramag, Bukidnon and Wao, Lanao del Sur you pass this land border crossing where the two provinces meet each other.  Bukidnon is generally peaceful.  Lanao del Sur Province strikes fear in the minds of many people, but this part of the Province is generally not a problem.

P. Joes, Cagayan de Oro

In Cagayan de Oro City, just outside the LimKetKai Mall you will see the restaurant, P. Joe’s Diner.  Interesting the way they have the plane coming out of the building like that!

Maria Cristina Falls

Macristina

This is the beautiful Maria Cristina Falls in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.  Maria Cristina is not only beautiful, it provides a great deal of hydro power for the Island of Mindanao!  Maria Cristina is the pride of Iligan, and rightly so!

Camiguin Island

Camiguin

As of this writing, Camiguin Island is one of only three Provinces in Mindanao where I have yet to set foot, but at least I’ve been this close!  That’s Camiguin that you can see in the background.  I’ll be visiting soon, I’m sure.

Arms of Peace

Stretching Arms

Arms of Christian and Muslim stretching across the highway in Misamis Oriental show the strive for Peace in Mindanao.  I stopped and took this photo just after this monument to peace completed construction.

Cheradel Suites Iligan

Cheradel

If you are looking for a nice hotel in Iligan, Cheradel Suites is the place you want to stay!  I’ve stayed there a number of times in the past decade, and have always been impressed with the place.

Buda Beauty

Buda Beauty

This photo shows the luscious green beauty of Buda.  Buda is a Barangay which sits right on the border of Bukidnon Province and Davao City.  Green hills, a few buildings.  This is pure peace and beauty!

Port of Ozamiz

Port Ozamiz

This is the Port of Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental.  I’ve ridden a few ferries out of this port, and it’s usually a long wait, if you are driving!  Big crowds of people pass through this port.
