Talk about grandeur! This is the City Hall of Cotabato City, in Southern Mindanao. A beautiful building with a typical Muslim or Arab type of architecture. Quite beautiful.
Border Crossing
Along the road between Maramag, Bukidnon and Wao, Lanao del Sur you pass this land border crossing where the two provinces meet each other. Bukidnon is generally peaceful. Lanao del Sur Province strikes fear in the minds of many people, but this part of the Province is generally not a problem.
Tugaya, Lanao del Sur
This is the Central Mosque in Tugaya, Lanao del Sur. This mosque was designed and built by the father of my friend, Ash Tamano. My wife and I visited Tugaya in April 2007, and we really enjoyed the visit. It was so interesting!
Little Boracay
Little Boracay is the name of this beach in Santa Maria, Davao del Sur. It’s kind of been a favorite spot for me and my family, we have visited Santa Maria fairly often over the years. Usually, when we visit here, the beach is empty, save for a few local fishermen or local kids. It’s [...]
P. Joes, Cagayan de Oro
In Cagayan de Oro City, just outside the LimKetKai Mall you will see the restaurant, P. Joe’s Diner. Interesting the way they have the plane coming out of the building like that!
General Paulino Santos
The founder of General Santos City was General Paulino Santos, and here you see a statue of him in the Plaza in General Santos City. I understand that recently the Plaza was refurbished and updated, but I’ve yet to visit since it was worked on. I’ll make it there soon, though!
Jolo, Sulu from the air
Jolo is an Island, and it is also the Capitol City of the Province of Sulu. Sulu is probably the most dangerous place that you can set foot in Mindanao. It is one of the few places that I have yet to visit in Mindanao, but I will go there one of these days when [...]
Route to Dinagat Island
The route between Surigao City and Dinagat is a path through many Islands. Here, another boat was riding alongside the boat that I took when I went to Dinagat in August 2009. It wasn’t really a race, but the boat I was on won anyway! Ha ha.
Port of Dinagat
The Port of Dinagat is a small port on the West side of Dinagat Island, and a little South of San Jose. There is not much to see or do in this part of the Island, though, so you might want to go to San Jose instead.
