This is the Public Market, or Merkado, in Banaybanay, Davao Oriental Province.  Banaybanay is famous for growing premium rice, something in high demand here in the Philippines.  When I visited this area, this public market was almost brand new, somewhat still under construction.

This is Lake Mainit, in Agusan del Norte Province.  It’s a very large lake, and quite beautiful too.  Init means “hot” in the local language, Bisaya, but I don’t think that the temperature of the lake is any hotter than it should be!
